and yes that filter is on photoshop, i use CS2, its freakin awesome but from what i see on most tutorials not many people use it when colouring pencil sketches. i think it works wonders though, you just need to play around with the different settings and you pretty much always have to repeat the filter several times and changing thesettings as you go to smooth out theshading but keep the level of detail.
give it a go sometime
and thats weird that people dont use it a lot. im always lookin for a way to make my sketches look better on the computer cuz they always look weird and, well, sketchy, when I scan them in..
Usually if i scan somethin in and i wanna color it, I just change the threshold thing until it gets darker, but that sounds easier lol

if so thats what i use alot. ths other tool is abit different, doesnt darken any areas just takes away that sketchy look. i usually use both though

I just found a wicked cool filter for smoothing out pencil shades (filter>noise> reduce noise. awesome).
i think i need more hobbies
